Our AFL UTM Tracker plugin now has native integration with the CookieYes.
Our plugin cookies will be created or deleted based on the visitor’s consent or whenever the consent changes.
Minimum Requirements
- AFL UTM Tracker v2.17.0
- CookieYes WordPress plugin v1.6.6
Steps
You will need to use the CookieYes WordPress plugin because CookieYes JavaScript API is only available through the plugin.
For the AFL UTM Tracker plugin:
- Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- On the side menu, browse to the AFL UTM Tracker > Settings page.
- Scroll to the Cookies > Cookie Consent Integration section.
- Select the Cookie Consent Integration dropdown to ‘CookieYes’.
- Set the Cookie Consent Category to either ‘Statistics’ or ‘Marketing’.
- Save Settings.
- Clear all page cache.
- Continue to the next step below.
For the Cookieyes:
- Login to your CookieYes account (cookieyes.com).
- Go to your Site > Cookie Manager.
- Depending on the Cookie Consent Category you have selected above:
- For Statistics, select the ‘Analytics’ tab in CookieYes.
- For Marketing, select the ‘Advertisement’ tab in CookieYes.
- Then click on the “+ Add Cookie” button.
- Cookie ID: afl_wc_utm_*
- Domain: Your domain
- Duration: Refer to the Attribution Window value.
- Script URL Pattern: Leave blank
- Description: Tracks the visitor’s first landing pages, first website referrer, UTM parameters and click identifiers for the purpose of conversion attribution.
- Go under the Uncategorized tab.
- Delete any cookies that begins with afl_wc_utm_
- e.g afl_wc_utm_main, afl_wc_utm_sess_landing, afl_wc_utm_utm_1st_url, afl_wc_utm_utm_url
- Click on the ‘Publish changes’ button.
